When it comes to finding the perfect gift for a person of faith, jewelry is an excellent choice. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, faith jewelry connects a person to their spiritual values. Many people hold their faith jewelry near and dear to their hearts, especially if it was given to them by a loved one.
At Moriah, we have created a rich variety of original faith-based jewelry. All our pieces are hand-made using 14K or 18K gold and top-grade gems.
The main feature that sets our faith jewelry apart is that it incorporates Moriah stone. Moriah stone is stone retrieved from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, Israel. The Temple Mount is holy to all three monotheistic religions, and pilgrims from all over the world visit it to pray and connect to God. By incorporating Moriah stone into our unique faith jewelry, wearers have the opportunity to take a piece of the Temple Mount with them wherever they go.
Featured here is our Holy stone cross. This unique faith jewelry item has a delicate cross carved out of Moriah stone. The cross is surrounded by 60 diamonds set in 18K yellow gold.
The Star of Bethlehem, or the Christmas star, symbolizes the miraculous birth of Jesus. On Christmas Eve, the Star of Bethlehem shone brightly in the sky and led the wise men to where Christ was born. Our interpretation of the Star of Bethlehem consists of a delicate diamond studded star, with one of the points drawn downwards. The star is surrounded on either side by an embracing 18K gold half-moon shape.
The fish symbol has long connected Christians to their faith. In Greek, the word for fish is ‘ichthus’ or ‘ichthy’, and the early Christians used it as an acronym – I= Iesous (Jesus); CH=Christos (Christ); TH=Theous (God); U= UIOS (Son); SOTER (Savior). During the periods of Christian persecution they could secretly identify each other through the symbol.
We have created a modern interpretation of the ancient Ichthys fish. The body of the fish is made from pink toned Moriah stone. The head and tail are crafted from 14K gold, and a small diamond is placed in the eye.
Jewish Faith Jewelry
The Moriah collection offers a wide variety of Jewish religious jewelry. These include Stars of David, the Chai symbol and unique faith jewelry with engravings of “If I forget thee, O Jerusalem”.
The Star of David is the most recognized symbol of Judaism and signifies God as the protector of the Jewish nation.
One of our most acclaimed designs is ‘Rising Star Pendant’. The piece features a triangular-shaped piece of Moriah stone, and three smaller triangles made up of black diamonds. The entire piece is set in 18K white gold.
The Hebrew letters ‘Chet’ and ‘Yud’ form the word ‘Chai’. The Chai is a symbol of life and longevity for both the individual and the Jewish people. In the Moriah Collection, the letter Chet is carved into the Moriah Stone while the letter ‘Yud’, which also symbolizes God’s name, is set in 14K gold and adorned with diamonds.
The proverb “If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill. Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth, if I remember thee not; if I set not Jerusalem above my utmost joy” (Psalms 137:5-6), is one of the most well-known proverbs in the Jewish culture and expresses the longing of the Jewish people to return to Jerusalem.
As can be seen in the pendant, the proverb is engraved into white 18K gold and is surrounded on either side by Moriah stone. At the center, a large diamond adds a sense of eternity to the piece.
Non-denominational Faith Jewelry
The Moriah collection includes faith-based jewelry with a universal appeal. The Tree of Life, Circle of Faith and Inbal Collection, all carry a strong spiritual message.
The Tree of Life has been adopted by faiths around the world. While its significance varies among different cultures, it is universally regarded as a symbol of the interconnectedness of all living beings. At Moriah, we have designed a modern interpretation of the Tree of Life.
The 18K gold Tree is placed within a circle, which further strengthens the symbol of interconnectedness. The circle is surrounded by round Moriah stone, and a bezel set diamond placed above the Tree symbolizes the higher realms.
We have also created a new line of jewelry called “Circle of Faith”. The line is based on the spiritual significance of circles. Since a circle has no beginning or end, it is a symbol of God’s everlasting love and infinate nature.
Another religious jewelry collection we have designed is called the “Inbal Collection”. In Hebrew, Inbal means the clapper inside the bell. The clapper represents the voice a person utters to the Heavens. This communication is unique since the clapper exists within a bell, and thus the voice comes from a place of immense inner strength.
In our interpretation, the clapper is a resilient diamond and the bell is the all encompassing Moriah stone.
